Develops method to trace seafood origin

Directs federal science agencies to create a chemical test for seafood's country of origin and pilot it on red snapper and tuna.

• Two federal science agencies would develop the method with Customs and Border Protection and the Coast Guard
• The method must use chemical analysis and include a portable field kit
• Pilot studies would test the method on red snapper and tuna
• A report to Congress and a plan to put the method into use are due within two years
