Transfers retired Navy jets to Alabama space center

The Navy could give three retired F-14D Tomcat fighter planes to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, under cost-free and no-combat conditions.

• The Navy would transfer three surplus F-14D Tomcat aircraft to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Commission
• The transfer must cost the federal government nothing, and the aircraft must have no combat capability
• The commission needs Navy approval to transfer ownership; broken conditions mean the aircraft return to the U.S
• Navy may provide spare parts to make one flyable or static; nonprofits may restore and operate for displays and events
