Gives the Food and Drug Administration power to order unsafe imported food destroyed instead of shipped back, and lets it share more food safety information with state and local health authorities.

• Food refused at import that breaks the law and threatens public health can be ordered destroyed
• Owners must destroy it within 90 days and pay the cost, after notice and a chance to respond
• The FDA could share food safety details with state, local, tribal, and territorial authorities
• Domestic food plants could volunteer for outside audits, which the FDA could use to set inspection priorities
