Extends disaster no-bid contract limit to one year
Lets the Homeland Security Department award no-bid contracts for disaster response and recovery for up to one year instead of 150 days.
- No-bid contracts for disaster response and recovery could last up to one year, not 150 days
- Removes the current limit so standard buying rules for urgent needs apply
- Homeland Security must report to Congress each year for five years on the change
- Reports must cover no-bid emergency agency contracts and how waste was prevented
