Expands tribal forest protection projects
Extends through 2031 a program letting tribes do land management work on federal land, adds Alaska Native corporation land, and allows work on tribal land and on federal land with special meaning to the tribe.
- Reauthorizes the program through 2031
- Lets Alaska Native corporation land count as Indian forest land or rangeland
- Projects no longer must be on federal land next to tribal land; the land must have special meaning to the tribe
- Work can now happen directly on tribal forest land and rangeland, not only on federal land
