Ends the national emergency on energy
Cancels the national emergency on energy declared on January 20, 2025, ending the emergency powers it gave federal agencies to speed up energy development and permits.
- Terminates the energy emergency declared in Executive Order 14156
- That order told agencies to approve more domestic energy development and speed up energy projects
- It also ordered faster permitting under certain environmental rules, especially in the Northeast, West Coast and Alaska
- It directed the Defense Department to assess how it buys and moves energy
