Marks 30 years of diplomatic relations with Vietnam
The Senate recognizes the 30th anniversary of normalized U.S. relations with Vietnam and restates its support for ongoing war legacy programs there.
- Notes relations were normalized on July 11, 1995, after a 1994 lifting of the trade embargo
- Supports continued funding for clearing unexploded bombs and treating dioxin at Bien Hoa Airport
- Honors Vietnamese Americans and U.S. service members who fought in the Vietnam War
- Backs the 2023 Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries
