Supports Choose Respect Day against domestic violence
The Senate backs Choose Respect Day on October 1 and asks people and governments to mark it with events and lessons aimed at changing how domestic violence is tolerated.
- October 1 is already designated Choose Respect Day under a 2022 law
- Asks citizens, groups, and federal, state, and local governments to hold proclamations and educational events
- Notes 3 women a day on average are killed by a current or former partner in the U.S
- Notes October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
