The Senate formally honors Brian Wilson, co-founder of the Beach Boys, for his songwriting and production work and for speaking openly about mental health and addiction.
- Wilson co-founded the Beach Boys in 1961 and was the group's bassist and main songwriter
- He wrote, arranged and produced the album Pet Sounds
- He won 2 Grammy Awards on his own and received Kennedy Center honors in 2007
- He talked publicly about his mental health and addiction struggles
