Supports naming July 2026 Sarcoma Awareness Month

The Senate backs designating July 2026 as National Sarcoma Awareness Month to draw attention to a rare cancer of bones and connective tissue.

• About 18,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with sarcoma each year
• About 7,600 people die from sarcoma each year, and over 236,000 live with it
• Sarcoma is about 1 percent of adult cancers and about 21 percent of childhood cancers
• More than 100 subtypes exist, and treatment can include surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy
