Designates June 15, 2026, as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and June 2026 as Elder Abuse Awareness Month, and thanks the people and agencies who work against elder abuse.
- About 1 in 10 adults over 60 face abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation each year
- Only 1 in 24 cases of elder abuse is reported, according to the resolution
- In financial exploitation cases, about 90 percent of those responsible are family or trusted people
- Victims over 60 lose at least $28.3 billion a year to financial abuse
